Five Ways to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle at Work

If you spend most of your time in the office, you can put your health in the background in favor of last-minute appointments, sweet rewards from vendors, and drunken hours during happy hours spent with colleagues and clients. Below are five tips to succeed in a busy workplace environment.

Sleep

To keep your body functioning like a well-oiled mechanism and get the most out of your fat-burning hormones, you better find time to sleep. An ordinary person needs about eight hours of restful sleep every night to restore his mind and body. If you often cannot relax at night, this may be due to insufficient activity during the day. Finding time for exercise is really important, but keep in mind that intense exercise will increase your body temperature four to five hours after your workout, making it harder for you to fall asleep. If you exercise in the evenings after work, make sure that you leave the gym no later than seven in the evening so that your body has enough time to lower its temperature, at about the same hour when you are going to bed. Keep your laptop and any work-related things outside the bedroom, and keep your environment cool, dark and quiet so you won’t be distracted when you are about to go to bed.
